Rotary Club supports the Speech and Language Therapy Programme

A meeting between the School Management, Faculty members of the Audiology, Speech and Language Therapy Department of the School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences and the Rotary Accra South Club was successfully held to deliberate on a proposed support for airfares for the external faculty invited to come, teach and support speech and language therapy (SLT) courses for which local staff have limited capacity.

SBAHS Ends a 4 Week Phlebotomy Course

The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences in the School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences has organized a Phlebotomy training course which started from the 1st August 2017 and ended on 25th August, 2017. A total of six persons enrolled and successfully completed the 4 week Programme.

Prof. Ofori-Acquah Leads Team to Secure a US$5.5 Million Award to Establish an ACE in Genomics Research of Sickle Cell Disease

Professor Solomon Fiifi Ofori-Acquah, PhD, Dean of the School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences (SBAHS), College of Health Sciences, and a prominent sickle cell disease scholar has led a 32-member team of hematologists, pulmonologist, cardiologists, pediatricians, geneticists, ethicists, and basic scientists to secure a U54 Center grant of US$5.5 million from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), USA.

SBAHS Begins Level 200 Lectures at Legon

The School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences (SBAHS) has begun lectures for Level 200 students at Legon. Dr. Esther Dennis of the Anatomy Department gave the first lecture in Functional Histology in the Upper Classroom of the Department of Chemistry.

Symposium and Launch of Phase II of the Collaboration between the Department of Dietetics - University of Ghana, Centre of Excellence for Nutrition, North-West University and Nutricia Research Foundation

A two-day symposium under the theme: Advancing Nutrition Research Through Capacity Building, was jointly organized by Nutricia Research Foundation (NRF, Netherlands), Centre of Excellence for Nutrition (CEN, Northwest University, Potchefstroom Campus, South Africa) and University of Ghana (The host institution) on the 28th and 29th of September, 2017 at Oceanic Beach Resort and Yiri Lodge in Accra.
